Guests beside a dive boat on their trip to Hurghada with Dive UK

Planning a dive trip to Hurghada

Planning a dive trip to Hurghada starts with you: your experience, your dates and the kind of holiday you would love. You might want a few relaxed days on the boat, a gentle return to diving or a week with your accommodation arranged. Tell us what you have in mind and we will help you put the pieces together.

Dive UK Hurghada welcomes divers from the UK and around the world. In addition, our British-owned team offers personal advice before you book and friendly support when you arrive. This guide helps you choose your activities, compare example prices and prepare your enquiry.

Start planning with us on WhatsApp or email your trip ideas. You do not need to have every detail decided.

What to have ready when planning a dive trip to Hurghada

First, a little information helps us recommend the right diving and give you a useful quote. Send us:

  • Your dates: arrival and departure dates, plus the days you would like to dive. If flights are not booked, tell us your preferred travel window.
  • Your group: the number of divers, any children and their ages, and any non-diving partners or friends.
  • Your experience: each diver’s certification, approximate number of dives and date of their last dive. Beginners are welcome too.
  • Your accommodation: hotel name and location, or whether you would like us to arrange a studio as part of a holiday.
  • Your equipment: what you will bring and what you need to hire. We can ask for sizing details once you choose your activities.
  • Your preferences: relaxed reef dives, further training, a refresher, private instruction or time for other activities.

Tell us if anyone feels nervous or needs extra help. For this reason, we can discuss individual requirements privately and explain the preparation needed. You do not need to send sensitive documents with your first enquiry; we will tell you what is required and how to provide it.

Choose diving that suits your experience

Choose one or more days of boat diving in Hurghada. Each diving day includes two guided dives, with sites selected around experience and conditions.

Our standard guided diving has a maximum of four divers per instructor. Let us know your interests, but leave room for the team to choose suitable sites on the day.

For example, a multi-day package gives you more time to settle in and enjoy different reefs. Discounted packages run on consecutive days unless agreed otherwise.

Plan a refresher before your boat dives

If it has been more than six months, or you would simply like to rebuild confidence, tell us before booking. We recommend starting with a patient refresher.

To help you settle back in, the refresher includes two shore dives, with time for questions, weighting, trim and the skills you want to practise. Also, equipment is included if needed.

A good starting plan is a refresher followed by four further boat days, adapted to your comfort and experience. Read about returning to diving and ask us for a combined quote.

Planning a dive trip to Hurghada: package prices

These prices are for qualified divers booking together. The five-day total is per person for ten dives. However, it covers diving, not accommodation.

Boat diving prices per person
Divers booking together 1–3 days: per day 4–5 days: per day Five-day total
1 diver £70 £65 £325
2 divers £65 each £60 each £300 each
3 divers £60 each £55 each £275 each
4 divers £55 each £50 each £250 each

For example, two people booking five days pay £600 in total before equipment or any additional transfer costs. Four people booking five days pay £1,000 in total on the same basis.

What your boat diving package includes

Prices include two dives per day, cylinders, weights, marine fees and taxes. Transfers are included for accommodation within 2 km of the facility used for your activity. For other locations, we confirm any taxi charge in your quote. In addition, full equipment rental is £25 per day or £100 for five days; a dive computer is extra.

For larger groups or a different arrangement, ask us for a personal quote. See our full diving prices and inclusions.

Refresher and course options

Planning a dive trip to Hurghada is also a chance to learn something new or get comfortable in the water again. Choose training around your experience, rather than trying to fit too much into a short stay.

  • One-day refresher: £120 for one person; £110 each for two, £100 each for three or £90 each for four booking together. Includes two shore dives and equipment if needed.
  • Try Scuba boat experience: £120 for one person, or from £90 each when four book together. A day with two introductory dives and equipment for people who are not qualified divers.
  • PADI Open Water course: £500 for one person, or from £400 each when four book together. This is the route to your first diving certification.

Read about the Try Scuba Experience or PADI Open Water course before choosing. For courses, we confirm eligibility, preparation and the time needed. Open Water pricing includes equipment, eLearning and certification.

Travelling with different experience levels? We can help combine courses, guided diving and non-diving time. Tell us everyone’s ages and qualifications so we can explain suitable arrangements.

Plan your Hurghada dive trip with accommodation

If you would like us to arrange more of the trip, our diving holidays in Hurghada combine a self-catering studio with diving and transfers. The prices below are per person, based on two sharing a double or twin studio.

  • 7 nights and 5 diving days: £600 per person, or £1,200 for two. Includes ten dives each.
  • 10 nights and 8 diving days: £825 per person, or £1,650 for two. Includes sixteen dives each.
  • 14 nights and 11 diving days: £1,100 per person, or £2,200 for two. Includes twenty-two dives each.

Along with your studio, these packages include private airport transfers, transfers on diving days, guided diving, air, weights, lunch and drinks on the boat, taxes and marine fees. Flights are booked separately. Accommodation is self-catering; meals ashore are not included.

Equipment hire and solo travellers

Equipment hire is extra: £100 for five diving days, £150 for eight or £200 for eleven, per person for the full package. Of course, solo travellers are welcome; the seven-night package is £800 including the single supplement. If you need a refresher, we confirm the supplement before booking.

For a different length of stay, a course-based holiday or mixed interests, explore our tailor-made diving holidays and ask for a private consultation.

For the detailed paperwork, equipment and first-morning checklist, use our Diving in Hurghada information guide.

Leave space to enjoy your holiday

Finally, give us your arrival and departure times when arranging the diving schedule. We will help you plan your last dive with the appropriate surface interval before flying, rather than filling every available day automatically.

You can also leave room for a beach day, time with a non-diving partner or another trip. Ask about suitable options and prices before adding them. Sea conditions and individual needs can affect the plan, so flexibility helps everyone enjoy their time.
