PADI Nitrox Diving Course in Hurghada

The PADI Nitrox Speciality Course in Hurghada helps you make informed choices about enriched air diving. Learn with our PADI Master Instructors and gain the knowledge and practical skills to use nitrox with up to 40% oxygen.

Nitrox contains less nitrogen than normal breathing air. As a result, it can give you more time within no-decompression limits on suitable dives. However, it has its own oxygen exposure and depth limits. We explain both the benefits and the limits in clear, practical terms.

During your training, you learn to analyse a cylinder, record its oxygen content and set a compatible dive computer. You also practise planning dives around the gas you are using. Our instructors guide you through each step so you understand the checks, rather than simply following a number.

The minimum age is 12. You need PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or a qualifying certification. If you are learning to dive, ask us about combining this speciality with your Open Water course.

Your PADI Nitrox Speciality Course, step by step

  • Plan your course with us. First, send your age, qualifications, recent diving experience, dates and accommodation. We check your starting point and explain the arrangements.
  • Complete your PADI e-learning. After booking and your deposit, we send the learning materials with instructions. Finish the knowledge development before your practical session, with our help whenever you need it.
  • Prepare on the boat. Review your learning with your instructor. Then practise analysing enriched air cylinders, recording the results and setting a compatible dive computer. You learn why the gas mix affects the plan for each dive.
  • Enjoy two dives. Our one-day boat package includes two dives with your instructor. Use your new knowledge while staying within your qualification, the gas limits and the conditions. We provide lunch and refreshments between activities.
  • Review your progress. Finally, go through the required knowledge and practical skills with your instructor. Once you meet all requirements, you receive your PADI Enriched Air Diver speciality certification.

We never rush your learning. If you need further training, we discuss the next steps and any additional costs before arranging it. The daily plan may change with conditions and your progress.

Personal support for your PADI Nitrox Speciality Course

You do not need to be an expert in gas theory to begin. We explain unfamiliar terms, demonstrate the practical checks and give you time to ask questions. You then practise with guidance until you can show that you understand the process.

Our PADI Master Instructors normally teach two students at a time. Suitable family groups can learn together with up to four students, provided everyone meets the requirements. Children under 14 learn one-to-one, except with their parent or sibling. Junior divers keep their age-related depth and supervision limits.

Nitrox is useful for many diving holidays and repeated dives. However, it does not make your cylinder last longer or qualify you to dive deeper. We help you understand how to use it within your existing training and experience.

After your course, you can build confidence on our daily diving trips. Alternatively, ask us about another PADI speciality course. Extra diving and other courses are separate bookings, and we confirm the full price before you decide.

PADI Nitrox Speciality Course — your questions answered

Who can take the PADI Nitrox Speciality Course?

You must be at least 12 and hold PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or a qualifying certification. You may also be able to learn alongside your Open Water course. First, send us your age, qualifications and experience so we can confirm the right arrangement.

What is enriched air nitrox?

Enriched air has more oxygen and less nitrogen than normal breathing air. This course covers recreational nitrox with up to 40% oxygen. You learn the practical checks and planning needed to use it, including how to manage oxygen exposure. For an overview, see the PADI Enriched Air Diver course.

Does nitrox let me dive deeper?

No. Nitrox certification does not increase your depth qualification. Each gas mix also has its own depth limit, which may be shallower than your usual limit. Your instructor teaches you how to plan within the appropriate limits. Junior divers retain their age-related restrictions.

Will my cylinder last longer?

No. Nitrox can extend no-decompression time compared with air on suitable dives, but it does not give you a larger gas supply. You must still monitor your gas and follow the dive plan. Your gas reserve, oxygen exposure, depth and other limits all matter.

Are two dives required for the qualification?

PADI allows this speciality to be completed without open-water dives when all knowledge and practical requirements are met. Our advertised package includes one boat day and two dives so you can put your learning into practice. These are part of the package described and priced on this page.

Should I finish the e-learning before arriving?

Yes, please complete the required knowledge development before your practical session. PADI e-learning is included in the price. After booking and your deposit, we send your materials with instructions. Meanwhile, contact us if you need help with any part of your study.

What if I have not dived recently?

If you have not dived recently, we can run your PADI Nitrox course from shore and include a free refresher. Tell us when you last dived so we can arrange this option with you. We give you patient support and time to rebuild your confidence.

Are equipment, lunch and transfers included?

Equipment, PADI e-learning, certification, marine fees and taxes are included. We also provide lunch and refreshments on your boat day. Transfers are included within 2 km of the relevant activity facility. For accommodation farther away, we confirm any additional taxi charge in your quote.

How do I book my PADI Nitrox Speciality Course?

Send your dates, age, qualifications and accommodation details. Once we confirm your place, pay a £200 deposit per person by Wise or bank transfer. This forms part of the course price. Then pay the balance in cash on the first morning. We do not accept cards or PayPal. Read our booking terms before paying.

Can I combine Nitrox with another course or holiday?

Yes. Ask us about suitable speciality courses, extra boat diving or a diving holiday in Hurghada. Each course has its own requirements and price. We can discuss a combined booking and confirm any discount in your quote. Accommodation and airport transfers are separate unless your agreed package includes them.
