We provide XDEEP equipment if you do not have your own. You learn how equipment fit, cylinder position and weighting work together. The aim is to build useful habits for recreational sidemount diving, with clear feedback throughout your training.

Your PADI Sidemount Course in Hurghada, step by step

  • Plan your training. Send your qualification, age, recent diving experience, dates and accommodation details. Tell us whether you have used sidemount equipment before so we can help you prepare.
  • Complete your PADI e-learning. After booking and your deposit, we send your included learning materials with instructions. Finish the required knowledge development before practical training and ask us for help whenever you need it.
  • Fit and prepare the equipment. Work with your instructor on harness fit, cylinder position and suitable weighting. Start with controlled practice in shallow water before progressing with your training.
  • Practise over two days and four dives. Learn from shore with time for briefings, practice and feedback. Work on balance, cylinder handling and managing your gas supplies under your instructor’s guidance.
  • Review your progress. Put your knowledge and practical skills together. You receive your PADI Sidemount Diver certification when you meet all requirements. If more training is needed, we explain the arrangements before continuing.

We choose suitable conditions for learning and never rush your progress. This is a recreational sidemount course; it does not qualify you for technical diving or entering caves and wrecks.

Personal support for your PADI Sidemount Course in Hurghada

A new equipment setup can feel unfamiliar at first. Your instructor helps you understand each adjustment and gives you time to try it in the water. Ask about anything that feels awkward, from reaching a clip to staying comfortably level.

Sidemount course requirements

  • Minimum age: 15 years.
  • Qualification: PADI Open Water Diver or a qualifying certification.

PADI Sidemount Course — your questions answered

Who can take the PADI Sidemount Course?

You must be at least 15 and hold PADI Open Water Diver certification or a qualifying certification. Tell us your age, qualification and recent diving experience before booking. We can then discuss your readiness and any preparation that would help.

How long does the Sidemount course take?

Our course runs from shore over two days and includes four dives. You have time to learn the equipment setup, practise in suitable conditions and review your progress. Shore training avoids the busy boat schedule, so the focus stays on your learning.

What will I learn on the PADI Sidemount Course?

You learn to prepare and adjust your sidemount equipment, position your cylinders and find a balanced trim. You also practise cylinder handling and gas management. Your instructor explains each task, supervises your practice and gives feedback after the dive.

Do I need my own sidemount equipment?

No. Equipment is included, and we provide XDEEP kit if you do not have your own. If you want to bring your equipment, send us the details before travelling. Your instructor can discuss its suitability and help you prepare for the course.

How many students train with one instructor?

We teach a maximum of two students per instructor, with one-to-one training preferred. This gives you time for equipment fitting, questions and personal feedback. We confirm whether your course is one-to-one or shared before you book.

Is Sidemount the same as technical diving?

No. This is a recreational Sidemount Diver course. It introduces a different equipment configuration while keeping you within recreational limits. It does not qualify you for decompression diving, cave diving or wreck penetration. Those activities need separate training and suitable experience.

When should I complete my Sidemount e-learning?

Please finish the required knowledge development before your practical training. PADI e-learning is included in the price and sent with instructions after booking and your deposit. Contact us if you need help, so you arrive ready to focus on the equipment and dives.

What if I have not dived recently?

Tell us when you last dived and how confident you feel with your current skills. We can discuss preparation or a refresher if needed. Any extra training, time and cost will be explained before booking. We want you to feel comfortable before changing equipment configuration.

Are lunch and transfers included?

Lunch is not included on this shore-based course. Transfers are included within 2 km of the relevant activity facility. Send your accommodation details for an additional taxi quote where needed. Accommodation and airport transfers are separate unless your agreed package includes them.

How do I book the PADI Sidemount Course?

Send your dates, age, qualification and accommodation details. Once we confirm your place, pay a £200 deposit per person by Wise or UK bank transfer. This forms part of the course price. Pay the balance in cash on the first morning unless another payment plan is agreed. We do not accept cards or PayPal. Read our booking terms before paying.

Can I combine Sidemount with another course?

Yes. Ask about suitable speciality courses or a diving holiday in Hurghada. Each course has its own requirements and price. We can discuss discounts for two or more courses and confirm the full quote before you book.
