Abu Dabbab is home to the turtles we visit. They live and feed here every day, which makes it a wonderful place to spend time with them. We put your chance of seeing them at 99.9%, although we cannot guarantee a sighting.

These friendly turtles are in very shallow water, so you can enjoy a close encounter and really appreciate how beautiful they are. Take your time, watch them feeding and enjoy being part of their underwater world.

We want the turtles to feel comfortable too. Let them choose how close to come, give them room to swim and never touch or chase them. You can enjoy an amazing experience while treating their home with care.

Would you like to look for a dugong?

You can also ask us about a dive to look for a dugong during your day in Marsa Alam. Seeing one of these animals would be another wonderful experience to share.

The optional dugong search costs £80 extra per person and replaces one turtle dive. Let us know if you are interested when we plan your trip.

Diving with sharks at Elphinstone

Would you love the chance to see an oceanic whitetip shark in its natural environment? For divers with the right ability and experience, Elphinstone can be a very special addition to a diving holiday with us.

Oceanic whitetips, also known as Carcharhinus longimanus, are powerful, potentially dangerous sharks. This is a demanding dive, so we need to know you are ready before we take you.

Completing those two days does not automatically qualify you for Elphinstone. Your safety comes first, and we must be happy with your readiness and the conditions.

Shark sightings are seasonal. The weather and diving conditions must be right, and we cannot guarantee sharks or that the trip will go ahead. Speak to us about your dates and experience so we can discuss the options and plan your first two days together.

Combine the chance to see sharks at Elphinstone with time diving with the turtles. We’ll help you plan the day if the diving is suitable for you and the conditions allow it.

Drinks, two 12-litre cylinders and weights are included. Discounts may be available if other guests join the fast boat.
