PADI Rescue Course in Hurghada & Emergency First Response (EFR)
The PADI Rescue Course in Hurghada is one of our favourite courses to teach. It is practical, interactive and full of moments that make you think about diving in a different way. Along the way, you learn to look beyond your own dive, notice when someone needs help and respond with greater confidence.
Safety comes first. Our PADI Master Instructors take time to explain each exercise, demonstrate the skills and help you practise. You can ask questions, work through anything you find difficult and build your confidence without feeling rushed.
Some divers take Rescue because they want to progress towards Divemaster. Others simply want to become a more capable buddy. Whatever brings you to us, we want you to leave with useful skills and a real sense of achievement.
Rescue training takes two days. If you also need Emergency First Response (EFR), allow a separate day for this first-aid course. Rescue starts from £325 per person when four people book and take the course together. EFR is charged separately.
Tell us about your diving experience and any first-aid qualification you hold. We will help you plan the right course for your holiday. Have a chat with us on WhatsApp.
Your PADI Rescue course in Hurghada, step by step
Allow two days for Rescue training from shore in Hurghada, plus one shore-based day for EFR if needed. Complete your eLearning before the practical training so you can spend your time with us learning and practising the skills.
- Before you book: send us your dates, diving certification, recent experience and first-aid details. We will check the requirements with you and explain your course plan.
- Prepare at home: once we receive your deposit, we send your eLearning with instructions. Work through it before you arrive, and contact us if you need help.
- EFR, if required: spend a separate day on Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care, learning and practising first-aid and CPR skills. We arrange this alongside your Rescue course.
- Build your rescue skills: start with self-rescue, then practise helping other divers. Your instructor explains each exercise and gives you feedback as you work through it.
- Put it together: then use what you have learnt in realistic rescue scenarios. These bring the skills together and help you think through how to respond.
We never rush your learning. We confirm the daily arrangements with you before training. Certification depends on meeting all course requirements, and we will discuss any further training and costs with you if needed.
Your PADI Rescue course in Hurghada: personal support

There is a lot to enjoy about this course. You work together, solve problems and see your confidence grow as the exercises start to make sense. We love that moment when a student realises they can do something that seemed difficult at the start.
Our PADI Master Instructors teach in small groups, usually with two divers to one instructor. Families who want to learn together can train in groups of up to four, subject to the appropriate age and course requirements. This gives us time to explain, listen and help you improve.
Before you enrol, we recommend excellent buoyancy and excellent control in the water. We also suggest at least 50 fun dives so you can get the most from your Rescue course. This is our recommendation at Dive UK Hurghada, not a PADI requirement. With that experience behind you, you can focus on helping others while staying comfortable in the water yourself.
Rescue training can be demanding, so please tell us if you feel unsure or need a break. We take your concerns seriously. Your safety and learning experience matter far more than hurrying through an exercise.
In addition, EFR adds skills you can use away from diving too. It is a chance to practise helping someone who is ill or injured in a supportive setting, before you ever face that situation outside a classroom.

PADI Rescue course in Hurghada and EFR — your questions answered
Who is the PADI Rescue course in Hurghada for?
It is for divers who want to become more aware of the people around them and build their confidence in helping others. You do not need to be planning a diving career. Before booking, tell us about your certification and recent dives so we can check that you are ready.
How long is the PADI Rescue course in Hurghada?
Our shore-based Rescue course in Hurghada takes two days, with eLearning completed before the practical training. EFR also takes place from shore and takes one separate day, so allow three training days if you need both. We will confirm the arrangements with you when planning your course.
Do I need EFR if I already have a first-aid certificate?
You need qualifying CPR and first-aid training completed within the past 24 months. If you hold another first-aid qualification, send us the details before booking. We can check whether it meets the Rescue requirements and whether you need EFR.
Is EFR included in the Rescue price?
No. Rescue and EFR are priced separately. The starting Rescue price of £325 per person applies when four people book and take Rescue together. EFR starts from £240 per person for four people taking EFR together. Both tables above show the full course price for each group size.
What will I practise on the PADI Rescue course in Hurghada?
You will work on self-rescue, helping tired or panicked divers, responding to an unresponsive diver and managing rescue situations. Your instructor guides you through the exercises before you bring the skills together in scenarios.
What if I am nervous about the exercises?
Please tell us. It is quite normal to feel unsure about something new, and we are here to help you learn. We explain the task, give you time to practise and offer personal feedback. If you need more training, we discuss the next steps and any extra costs with you before arranging it.
How do I book and pay?
Start with a chat about your dates and experience. Our course deposit is £200 per person, paid by Wise or bank transfer. We send your eLearning after receiving your deposit. The remaining balance is payable in cash on the morning of your first activity. We do not accept card payments.
Can I take EFR on its own?
Yes. EFR is a separate first-aid course, and you do not need to be a diver to take it. Contact us with your dates if you would like to learn these skills for everyday life, work or travel.
What should I do after my Rescue course?
Afterwards, spend time enjoying your diving and putting your awareness into practice. You are very welcome to join us for daily diving in Hurghada. If you are interested in becoming a diving professional, we can also talk through the PADI Divemaster course and its requirements.
