Night diving Hurghada: discover the reef after dark
Night diving in Hurghada brings you closer to a different side of the Red Sea. As daylight fades, your torch picks out the reef’s colours and the smaller creatures that are so easy to miss. Take your time, look closely and enjoy an evening you will remember.
We arrange our night dives from shore, with an excellent reef to explore and a nearby wreck for suitable divers. One guided shore night dive costs £100 per person. Tell us about your experience and we will help you choose the right evening.

Shore night diving in Hurghada
There is no need to wait for a night boat trip. Our shore setting gives us time to prepare, talk through the plan and answer your questions before we enter the water.
We explore at a comfortable pace, looking for the details around the reef rather than racing from one sight to the next. Your instructor chooses the route around your experience and the conditions on the evening.
Whether you already love night diving or are curious about trying it, contact us first. We will discuss your qualifications and arrange suitable guidance or training.
A reef, little critters and a wreck
Watch the torchlight reveal shapes and colours that look different after sunset. You might spot an octopus, a moray eel or smaller creatures tucked into the reef. Every dive has its own surprises; wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.
There is also a wreck accessible from shore. When your training, confidence and conditions allow, we can plan an exterior visit as part of the evening.
A guided night dive does not include wreck penetration. You can enjoy the ship’s outline and the life around it without going inside. Read our wreck diving Hurghada guide for more about local wrecks and specialist training.
What happens on your night diving evening?
- Make a plan with us. Send your dates, qualifications and recent diving experience. We confirm availability, meeting arrangements and any equipment or transfer needs before booking.
- Arrive with time to settle in. Meet your instructor, prepare your equipment and ask anything that is on your mind. There is no need to rush.
- Listen to your dive briefing. We explain the route, torch communication, buddy contact and the plan for entering and leaving the water. Complete your equipment and buddy checks with your instructor.
- Explore the reef after dark. Enjoy the changing scene in your torchlight. A suitable wreck visit can be included in the plan, rather than promised regardless of conditions.
- Share what you discovered. Back on shore, take time to talk through the dive and log the evening’s highlights.
Meeting times vary with sunset and the plan for that evening. We confirm your arrangements directly; this is a planned shore activity, not an automatic extra on every boat day.

First night dive? Take it at your pace
It is natural to feel curious and a little nervous. Tell us how you feel. We give you time to ask questions and explain what to expect, so you can make a comfortable choice.
If you have been out of the water for a while, start with a daytime refresher. Our two-dive shore day gives you time to revisit skills, weighting and trim before considering a night dive. Explore our returning-to-diving guide.
For structured learning, the Night Diver course develops torch communication, navigation and buddy awareness. It is available from age 12 to Open Water or Junior Open Water divers, or those with a qualifying certification, subject to suitability.
Safety and personal care after dark
Safety always comes first with us. Guided groups have a maximum of four divers to one instructor, giving you personal attention and room to enjoy the experience. Our Night Diver course normally has two students per instructor; see the course page for family arrangements.
We choose the dive around your training, recent experience and the conditions. Keep close to your buddy, follow the briefing and enjoy marine life without touching or disturbing it.
Bring your certification details, a towel and something comfortable for afterwards. We confirm the equipment and torches needed with you in advance, rather than leaving you to guess.
