Our conservation commitment reaches Indonesia
We are part of a conservation project in Indonesia—and we heavily sponsor it. Our care for the ocean includes practical work alongside fellow divers, as well as financial support. From collecting underwater rubbish to preparing and deploying reef stars, we are proud to take part.
120 kg of rubbish collected from underwater. The cleanup pictured below removed 120 kilos of rubbish from the water at our Indonesia conservation project. The group photograph was taken afterwards, with the collected rubbish brought ashore.
Our involvement also includes working together on reef stars, from preparation on land to deployment underwater. These are photographs of the conservation project we support, showing the people and practical work behind that commitment.
That same commitment inspires our heavily subsidised diving package for marine biology and ocean conservation students in Hurghada. We want to help students take their first steps into scuba while they are beginning their studies, so cost is less of a barrier.

Our investment in the next generation of ocean carers
We do more than encourage students: we help make their training possible. Dive UK Hurghada heavily subsidises our diving courses for marine biology students, which combine Open Water and Advanced Open Water training with seven nights of self-catering accommodation. The package is £899 per student when four book together and share two rooms.
Airport transfers, equipment, e-learning and certification are included, with practical training planned over five days. Newly enrolled students, those continuing their studies and those nearing completion are welcome to enquire.

Marine conservation in Hurghada: everyday action
We carry out underwater clean-ups, and we are always pleased when divers help pick up rubbish. On the dive sites we visit in Egypt, we generally see relatively little rubbish on the seabed. But even a small amount is worth noticing and removing with care. If you see some, let us know—we will be happy to help you remove it.
Every piece we can safely remove is one less piece left underwater. Show your guide what you have found so we can help. A discarded object may be sharp, tangled or sheltering marine life, so let the team assess anything uncertain. We want to encourage your help while keeping you and the reef safe.
Responsible action also starts before anything reaches the water. Keep belongings secure on the boat, use the bins and follow the crew’s instructions for the onboard toilet and waste disposal.
Small choices, made throughout your holiday
Choose shade and UV-protective clothing alongside appropriate sunscreen. Do not assume a reef-safe label makes a product harmless. Our no-touch page explains the simple boat and sun-protection habits we ask guests to consider.
Underwater, slow down and notice where your fins and equipment are. Give animals an open route away and resist the urge to get closer for a photograph. A calm encounter is often more rewarding than a rushed approach.
