PADI Self-Reliant Course Egypt: A thoughtful next step for experienced divers

The PADI Self-Reliant Course Egypt develops the preparation, awareness and judgement needed to manage yourself more independently underwater. It can also help experienced buddy divers become more reliable members of a team.

This is not a shortcut to diving alone. Independent diving brings additional responsibilities, and a good buddy remains valuable. Our instructors help you examine your habits honestly and recognise when a dive should not go ahead.

What your PADI Self-Reliant Course Egypt develops

You work on dive planning, equipment awareness and a methodical response to problems. Backup equipment needs to be appropriate, accessible and familiar. Your instructor explains the configuration and helps you understand the reasons behind it.

Each training dive has clear objectives. After the dive, you review your decisions and identify what needs more practice. One-to-one teaching is preferred, with no more than two students per instructor, so feedback stays personal.

Experience comes before enrolment

You must be at least 18, hold PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification and have at least 100 logged dives. A pre-course skills assessment with your instructor is also required. Send us your qualifications, logged dive total and recent diving history before booking.

Numbers alone do not describe readiness. Tell us about the diving you normally do, how recently you have been in the water and why this course interests you. We can then discuss whether it is an appropriate next step.

Two days focused on your development

Our programme includes two days and four shore dives. Shore-based training gives us time for preparation, practice and review without fitting the work around a busy boat schedule. Equipment and eLearning are included; lunch is not included.

Finish the required study before practical training. Certification follows only when all requirements are met. Afterwards, local rules, operator policies, conditions and your experience still determine where and how you may dive.

Make your course part of a diving holiday

Book your PADI Self-Reliant Course Egypt as part of a diving holiday with us. We can bring your course, accommodation, transfers and extra diving into one personally arranged plan. Tell us your travel dates and what you would like from the holiday.

We confirm the items and costs included in your own package before you book. You can also book the course on its own if you have already arranged accommodation. Send the hotel details so we can check transfer arrangements.

Stay for two more days on the boat

We recommend two extra boat-diving days to put your planning and equipment awareness into practice with our team. These are guided diving bookings; the course does not automatically authorise independent diving on our boat trips.

Explore our daily diving programme and ask us to add two days to your quote. Extra boat diving is booked separately from the course. We agree suitable dates around training, your progress and your travel plans.
