Your future in ocean conservation deserves a strong start. Our diving courses for marine biology students are heavily subsidised by Dive UK Hurghada to help you get into scuba at the start of your studies. We bring PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water training together with a week in Hurghada, making that first step more accessible for you and three fellow students.

We also welcome students studying towards ocean conservation work. Whether you have just enrolled, are partway through your course or are nearing graduation, tell us what you are studying and what you hope to learn.

Diving courses for marine biology students: your package

£899 per student

For four students booking together and sharing two rooms. The total for the group is £3,596.

  • Seven nights of self-catering accommodation, with two students sharing each room.
  • Airport transfers.
  • PADI Open Water Diver course and PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course.
  • Five days of practical diving training.
  • Diving equipment, e-learning and certification included.

This special price is made possible by Dive UK Hurghada heavily subsidising the package. We want the cost of learning to dive to be less of a barrier for students preparing to care for the ocean. Bring your group of four and ask us about suitable dates. We will confirm your accommodation, course arrangements and full booking details before you commit.

Diving courses for marine biology students: start early

You do not have to wait until graduation. We especially want to help students at the beginning of their courses. Learning to dive early gives you time to build confidence in the environment you are studying. This offer is for students enrolled in marine biology or studies leading towards ocean conservation work. By subsidising your training holiday, we are investing in people whose interest in the sea could become a lifetime of care for it. This is a practical commitment from our business to the ocean’s future.

Newly enrolled students, current students and those nearing completion are welcome to enquire. Tell us your course, where you study and the stage you have reached. If your subject has a different title but a clear ocean conservation focus, explain it to us so we can discuss eligibility.

The package is designed for four people travelling together. If you already hold a diving qualification, tell us before booking so we can discuss what training is appropriate for you.

From your first underwater skills to your next step

Start with Open Water

Build the foundations with patient instruction, equipment practice and guided underwater learning. You will work on the skills needed to dive with greater confidence, including buoyancy and awareness of your surroundings. Read about our PADI Open Water course.

Continue with Advanced Open Water

After successfully completing Open Water, continue developing your skills through the Advanced course. Discuss your interests with your instructor and learn how to approach new diving experiences responsibly. Explore our PADI Advanced Open Water course.

We plan the practical training over five days. Complete the agreed e-learning preparation and follow your instructor’s guidance throughout. Certification depends on meeting the course requirements; the timetable may need to adapt to your progress or conditions.

A week to learn together

Seven nights in self-catering accommodation give your group a base in Hurghada, with two shared rooms for four students. You can plan meals together, talk through the day’s learning and enjoy time with people who share your interest in the ocean.

Airport transfers are included. Before booking flights, agree your arrival and departure dates with us so the training and travel schedule fit together. We will also explain the required pre-course paperwork and preparation.

Ask us to confirm the accommodation details, availability and any costs outside the listed package. We want your group to understand the arrangements before making travel commitments.

Training with care for marine life

Our marine biology student diving holidays start with respect for the animals and habitats you have come to see. We also carry out underwater clean-ups and welcome divers who want to help remove rubbish. If you spot some, show your instructor: we will be happy to help you remove it safely without disturbing marine life. We teach you to observe without touching, keep equipment secure and leave space between yourself and the reef.

These are recreational diving qualifications. They can help you become more comfortable underwater, but they do not replace your academic studies or specialist scientific-diving training. We do not promise research placements, academic credit or employment.

Read our no-touch diving policy before travelling. It applies throughout the holiday, whether you are practising a skill, watching a fish or taking a photograph.

Conservation experience behind our student support

We invest in ocean conservation as well as the people preparing to work in it. Dive UK Hurghada is actively involved in, and heavily sponsors, a conservation project in Indonesia. Our involvement includes underwater rubbish collection and working with divers to prepare and deploy reef stars.

That commitment is one reason we want to help marine biology and ocean conservation students get into scuba early. Our heavily subsidised Hurghada package helps you build diving skills and confidence at the start of your studies.
