PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Diving Course in Hurghada
Our Peak Performance Buoyancy Course Hurghada gives you time to feel more balanced, relaxed and in control underwater. Work with our PADI Master Instructors on the small changes that can make everyday diving feel easier.
Learn how your weights, equipment position and breathing affect your buoyancy. Then practise holding a comfortable depth and moving with less effort. Clear feedback helps you understand what to adjust, rather than simply adding more weight.
Better control also helps you enjoy the reef without touching it or stirring up the bottom. You can focus on your buddy and the marine life while building habits to use on future dives.
The minimum age is 10. You need PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or a qualifying certification. Your existing age, depth and supervision limits still apply.
Your Peak Performance Buoyancy course, step by step
- Plan your course with us. First, send your age, qualifications, recent diving experience, dates and accommodation. Tell us what you find difficult so we can focus the coaching on your needs.
- Complete your PADI e-learning. After booking and your deposit, we send your learning materials with instructions. Finish the knowledge development before the practical day, with help from us whenever you need it.
- Prepare at the shore. Meet your instructor, check your equipment and discuss your weighting. You also review how equipment position affects your balance, known as trim.
- Practise during two shore dives. Work on buoyancy checks, comfortable positioning, hovering and controlled movement. Your instructor gives feedback, and you have time to review your progress between dives.
- Complete your course. Finally, review your knowledge and practical work. Once you meet all requirements, you receive your PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy speciality certification.
Our course runs over one day from shore. We choose suitable conditions and never rush your learning. If further training is needed, we explain the arrangements and any extra costs before continuing.
Personal support for your buoyancy course
It is common to feel too heavy, struggle to stay level or rise when you want to hover. We take time to see what is happening and explain useful adjustments. You can ask questions and practise with patient guidance throughout the day.
Our PADI Master Instructors normally teach two students at a time. Suitable family groups can learn together with up to four students. Divers under 14 learn one-to-one unless training with their parent or sibling; we do not add unrelated students to that group.
You do not need perfect buoyancy before booking. This course is designed to help certified divers improve it. Tell us about your experience and confidence so we can help you prepare.
Afterwards, practise your skills on our daily diving trips or explore another PADI speciality course. Extra diving and other courses are separate bookings.
Peak Performance Buoyancy skills for everyday diving
Good buoyancy starts with suitable weighting and a balanced equipment setup. During the course, you learn how these work together. You also practise streamlining your kit so it creates less drag and stays clear of the reef.
Hovering gives you time to look closely without resting on the bottom. A comfortable trim helps you move efficiently and keep your fins clear of fragile marine life. These skills are useful for relaxed reef dives, photography and staying with your buddy.
As you become more comfortable, you may use less air because you are working less hard. Results vary with experience, conditions and continued practice. We focus on steady progress rather than promising a particular dive time.

Peak Performance Buoyancy course — your questions answered
Who can take the Peak Performance Buoyancy course?
You must be at least 10 and hold PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or a qualifying certification. Send us your age, qualifications and recent diving experience before booking. We can then confirm whether the course is suitable and discuss any preparation you may need.
Is the buoyancy course taught from shore?
Yes. Our Peak Performance Buoyancy Course Hurghada takes place from shore over one day, with two training dives. This gives you time for briefings, focused practice and a review between dives. Lunch is not included on shore-based course days.
What will I practise on the Peak Performance Buoyancy course?
You work on suitable weighting, equipment position, trim and streamlining. You also practise hovering and moving with control. Your instructor helps you recognise how small changes affect your balance, so you can carry these skills into future dives.
Do I need good buoyancy before starting?
You need the basic skills from your existing diving qualification, but your buoyancy does not have to be perfect. Improving it is the purpose of this course. Tell us which parts you find difficult, whether that is staying level, hovering or feeling comfortable with your weights.
Will better buoyancy help me use less air?
It can help. A balanced, streamlined diver often moves with less effort, which may improve air use. However, there is no guaranteed saving or extra dive time. Fitness, experience, depth and conditions all play a part. Your instructor will help you build efficient habits through practice.
Does this course increase my depth limit?
No. Peak Performance Buoyancy improves your control underwater; it does not increase your depth qualification. Stay within your training, experience and the dive plan. Junior divers also keep their age-related depth and supervision limits.
When should I complete my buoyancy e-learning?
Please finish the required knowledge development before your practical day. PADI e-learning is included in the course price. After booking and your deposit, we send the materials with instructions. Contact us if you need help with your study before you travel.
What if I have not dived recently?
Tell us when you last dived before booking. We can discuss whether a refresher would help you feel comfortable before your course. Any additional training, time or cost will be explained before you commit. We want you to feel ready for the practical day.
Are equipment and transfers included?
Equipment, PADI e-learning, certification, marine fees and taxes are included. Transfers are included within 2 km of the relevant shore-diving facility. Send your accommodation details so we can quote any additional taxi charge. Lunch is not included.
How do I book the Peak Performance Buoyancy Course Hurghada?
Send your dates, age, qualifications and accommodation details. Once we confirm your place, pay a £200 deposit per person by Wise or bank transfer. This forms part of the course price. Pay the balance in cash on the first morning. We do not accept cards or PayPal. Read our booking terms before paying.
Can I combine buoyancy training with another course?
Yes. Ask us about suitable speciality courses, extra diving or a diving holiday in Hurghada. Each course has its own requirements and price. We can discuss discounts for two or more courses and confirm your quote. Accommodation and airport transfers are separate unless your agreed package includes them.
