When is the best time for Hurghada diving?
The best time is the time that suits you. You can join us throughout the year, so there is no need to save your Red Sea plans for one short season. Compared with many UK and European dive sites, the water feels wonderfully inviting.
Think about your comfort in and out of the water, how many days you would like to dive and who is coming with you. Then have a chat with us: we can help you turn those preferences into a holiday you will enjoy.
Prefer a quieter time on holiday?
April and May, then September, October and November, are our busier months. If you prefer a quieter period, consider travelling outside those times. Let us know your dates early so we can discuss the arrangements together.
Whatever month you choose, our guided diving standard stays the same: a maximum of four qualified divers per PADI Master Instructor. You have room to settle in, ask questions and enjoy the reef at a comfortable pace.
Hurghada diving through the seasons
Hurghada diving in winter: December to February
Swap grey days at home for time on the Red Sea. We continue diving through winter, choosing suitable sites around the conditions and your experience. A warm layer for the boat journey and time between dives helps you stay comfortable.
Most of our customers still choose a 3 mm wetsuit. If you tend to feel the cold, a 5 mm suit may suit you better. Tell us how you usually feel underwater and we will help you prepare.
Hurghada diving in spring: March to May
Spring is a lovely opportunity to build some diving into your holiday. March can suit visitors looking outside our busier April and May period. Plan a few boat days so you have time to settle in and explore.
Cold-sensitive divers may prefer 5 mm in March and April, while most customers use 3 mm. By May, 3 mm is usually comfortable for our guests. Your own comfort matters more than a calendar rule.
Hurghada diving in summer: June to August
Summer brings the appeal of long, unhurried days around the water. Enjoy the shade on board and remember sun protection when you are out of the sea. Bring a refillable water bottle and top it up throughout the day to stay hydrated. Your safety comes first.
Our customers are generally comfortable in 3 mm during these months. Many choose just a rash vest in July and August. We can discuss what suits you, particularly if you are planning several days of diving.
Hurghada diving in autumn: September to November
These are popular months with our divers. Book your dates with us and look forward to more reef time, relaxed lunches and the chance to share the experience with friends or family.
A 3 mm wetsuit is usually suitable for our customers, and many still choose a rash vest without a wetsuit. Water conditions and individual comfort vary, so let us know if you tend to get cold.
Clear water, carefully chosen dives
In our local experience, visibility is usually 30–40 metres for the vast majority of the year. Many Hurghada sites offer gentle currents and little tidal change, making them a welcoming setting for relaxed reef diving.
Visibility is never guaranteed. Coral spawning normally reduces it twice a year, for about a week each time. Weather, current and the particular site also matter, so we choose the day’s dives around conditions and the group.
What should you pack?
Bring your qualification details if you are certified, your usual dive essentials, a towel and something comfortable to wear between dives. A light windproof layer can make the boat journey more pleasant, especially in the cooler months.
Tell us before you travel if you need equipment hire, including your sizes. For more detail, read our seasonal and wetsuit FAQs. We will help you plan for repeated dives as well as your first day.

Newly qualified? Let your confidence grow
We believe Hurghada is one of the best places in the world for new divers to gain experience, and we would love to help you. After any course, allow a couple of extra boat days to practise your new skills and enjoy the Red Sea.
Tell us when you qualified, what you have already done and anything that makes you nervous. Our guided daily diving gives you personal support, with no more than four qualified divers per PADI Master Instructor.
Not tried scuba yet? Choose a Try Scuba Experience with one-to-one instruction, or begin your PADI Open Water course. We help you learn at your own pace.

More days, more chances for an unforgettable encounter
Every dive gives you another opportunity to discover something special. Look for clownfish among the anemones, blue-spotted rays beside the reef, moray eels and clouds of colourful fish. Turtles, eagle rays, barracuda or a passing pod of dolphins may make a day especially memorable.
The more time you spend in the water, the more opportunities you have for those encounters. Wildlife is never guaranteed, but a four- or five-day package gives you more reef time and a lower daily rate. Bring friends, book together and make more of your holiday.

A holiday for everyone travelling with you
Your partner does not need a diving qualification to enjoy the holiday with you. They can ask about Try Scuba with their own instructor or snorkelling, with time to relax and have lunch together on the boat.
We also offer a full concierge and bespoke holiday service, helping you with all the planning. Explore our Hurghada diving holidays and tell us who is coming, including children’s ages, so we can explain suitable options and prices.
Fancy seeing more of Egypt while you are here? We can help you plan time ashore too, including our Cairo trip. WhatsApp: Phone us to discuss the holiday you would love.

Plan your Hurghada diving with people who care
Your safety, comfort and enjoyment matter to us personally. We take time to understand your experience, prepare equipment, give clear briefings and choose suitable dives. Our equipment is maintained to manufacturer standards; our focus is on looking after you properly.
We welcome divers from the UK, Europe, the USA and around the world. Wherever you call home, our British-owned and managed team offers clear English-speaking instruction, personal care and a warm welcome.
We suggest that you book early to avoid disappointment. Spaces are limited because we take a maximum of four divers to one instructor for guided diving, giving you the personal care and attention you deserve.
You are welcome to speak directly with our owner before booking. Send your dates, accommodation, number of divers and experience, and we will explain your choices and the full cost.
