Diving in Hurghada information

Daily diving in Hurghada is not to be missed. As soon as your head descends under water you will see the whole reason why our passion for scuba has never wavered. Here’s how it works when you book with Dive UK Hurghada

When you are ready to book in with us, you can contact one of the team via various methods. We have WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook messenger, Instagram, Email and you can phone us.

All the contact details are clearly labelled on our website diveukhurghada.co.uk and also listed below for your convenience. Communications will be with one of our English Instructors so no need to worry about translation issues and response times are quick. Please bear with us though, we are underwater a lot and sometimes need a bit of time to dry off to respond. We will ask you for a non-refundable deposit sent to our English bank or we also use wise.com for those who do not have English bank accounts. The amount is usually £50pp but may vary depending on the booking. During communications before the diving starts, we will ask you to send us copies of your passports and diving certifications to our Whatsapp. If you are hiring equipment from us, we will also ask for full length pictures of yourselves so that we can arrange everything and organise logistics and equipment beforehand. This removes a lot of the rush and stress the day of. We try to make everything as easy and as relaxed as possible.

The evening before your diving one of the team will be in contact with you with a pick up time from your hotel and advise you of any further information that you may need. The pick up times vary depending on where your hotel or accommodation is located within Hurghada but are generally around 7:30 and 8am.

On the day, our English speaking driver will be outside your hotel at the agreed time and will bring you to the location of the boat or meeting point where a member of the team will be waiting. Once on the boat, we set up the equipment, complete all the necessary checks, prepare weight belts and make sure we have everything we need. Paperwork is next on the list, we will ask you to complete the health questionnaire, sign the liability release and the safety standards. Please be aware that if you need to tick yes to any of the questions on the health questionnaire you may need to get a certificate from your doctor stating that you are fit to dive before your arrival.

You will also pay the balance of the booking in cash preferably in GBP but we also accept Euro and US Dollar at the exchange rate of the day. All that’s left to do now is relax and get ready for some enjoyable and magical diving.

Dive UK Hurghada focus on quality or quantity! All the instructors and freelancers on the boat get together in the morning to choose the dive site. The site is dependent on any courses taking place that day, abilities of those on board and weather conditions. We try to cater for everyone and choose a site that everybody will be happy with. With over 40 different dive sites in Hurghada and the majority of the sites suitable for all abilities, with little to no currents, platforms leading to depth so both shallow and deep and crystal clear visibility there’s always something to suit. We go to all the sites in Hurghada and not only the close by sites that everybody goes too.

A full in depth briefing will take place on the journey to the site making sure you are aware of the site topography, the dive plan, emergency procedures, and how to enter and exit the boat safely along with a recap of all hand signals needed. Upon entering a weight check will be done if it is your first day and then the fun starts.

Descending into bliss and seeing the magic underneath the water your English instructor will show you the beauty of the Red Sea and you will see why it has captured our hearts. We always try to prolong the dives, we may bring some of the group back to the boat and stay under with any divers that have air remaining. We are always happy to help and advise our divers on ways in which they can improve their air consumption or their diving in general. All you need to do is ask us.

Normally the boat will arrange lunch for after the first dive however under some circumstances this could be after the second. Your instructor will advise you of this in the morning. Lunch is served buffet style and normally consists of a variety of salads, rice, pasta, and a meat dish. This can change depending on the boat. Soft drinks are served at lunch time and there is safe, bottled drinking water throughout the whole day.

After a suitable surface interval, we will go for a second dive, depending on the dive sites agreed in the morning the boat will either move dive sites or stay moored. Even if the boat stays in the same location the second dive will not be the same as the first, we will explore a different part of the reef and experience the feeling the Red Sea gives once again.

After the second dive, we will de-kit and wash our equipment with fresh water. There are hose pipes at the back of the boat and depending on how many days you are diving with us we will collect our equipment together to store for the day after or pack away our equipment to take off the boat. If you are completing more than one day diving with us, you can leave your equipment on board the boat for the day after if you wish. We recommend you take back your computers and cameras though.

We will arrange for your transport back to the hotel or your accommodation at the end of the day and look forward to diving with you again hopefully very soon after.
