Dive UK Hurghada adheres to PADI standards with no exceptions. All of our courses take place on a beach. This ensures that depth restrictions by PADI are met and we can slowly take you to deeper depths based on your comfort levels and course requirements. We cannot take you on a boat to complete the course as this will mean we cannot meet the depth standards set out by PADI. Also, boats tend to be a little rushed and that is not good for a new Diver. We have your best interests at heart.
Coming out to Egypt and learning to Scuba dive will give you the opportunity to learn in warm water, crystal clear visibility and pass your course in 3 days. Guess what? you will also get to see the amazing marine life the beautiful Red Sea has to offer.
If you need another reason, we also have a maximum of 4 students in a course, although we prefer to have 2 to 1. The exception to this is group bookings and families that wish to learn together. This ensures that you get the attention, help and relaxed atmosphere that supports knowledge and skill development.
We also do private courses if your prefer 121 tuition.
What is involved in the course?
The PADI open water course is split into 3 parts: Knowledge development, Confined water sessions and Open water sessions.
- Knowledge: The knowledge section is in the form of e-learning which can be done at your own pace. Our instructors will be at hand over phone, video calls or messages should you need extra assistance and we would be more than happy to help. You will learn the basic knowledge needed to start the course including physics, equipment and safety protocols. We ask that the e-learning and exam is completed prior to arrival. Also work through slow to absorb the information. Those that work through slowly will excel in the in water sessions.
- Confined Water Dives: During these sessions we will be in a controlled environment on the beach. According to PADI standards the majority of the confined element must be conducted in a way in which the student can stand in the water. You will learn basic skills such as mask clearing, regulator recovery and safety aspects.
- Open Water Dives: In open water, you will apply what you’ve learned in the confined section during four exhilarating dives in the Red Sea under the careful guidance of your instructor along with learning some new skills. It is at this point that you will start to realise just how amazing Scuba is. Each open water dive will take you to a deeper depth, ensuring that you are comfortable and also adhering to the standards.
Once you have gained the PADI open water certification you will be qualified to a depth of 18 metres (age restrictions apply) and are able to Scuba dive around the world with a buddy and/ or professional promising an unforgettable experience.
